Grandparents Day 2020

Thank you to the pupils in Room 4 in creating invitations for our grandparents for this special day.
Each year during Catholic Schools Week Grandparents Day is designated as the day when the school community celebrates the contribution of grandparents. Grandparents do so much to help raise and nurture their grandchildren. They have patience and time when parents are too busy. They have stories to tell and interesting games to play. They are good for treats and spoiling which we all need from time to time. Grandparents form the pillars of our lives and guide us in every possible way. They ast as our friendm philosopher and guide.
To close Catholic Schools week our pupils gave thanks to their grandparents on Friday 31st January. A special mass was celebrated in St. Mary’s. The pupils asked God to bless their grandparents as ‘they are cherished memories of our family.’ They also bring gifts of wisdom, experience and love.
The grandparents and visitors joined the school for refreshments and entertainment in the school hall after the mass. The 5th & 6th Class pupils presented their grandparents with poems and 6th Class enjoyed a cup of tea with their grandparents. A lovely afternoon was had by all. Thank you to all the staff, teachers and pupils for this celebration.
